In the 1930's my grandparents Ralph and Nell Cushman began to acquire properties on the west end of Galveston Island. Although sometimes destroyed by hurricanes, our various beach cabins became our favorite get-aways. We will have a look at those wonderful days of salt air and freedom which taught us so much; The sporting life, swimming, and family togetherness.
And thankfully, one of us still has a beach house! Cousin Robert Cushman has built a wonderful house near Surfside, Texas, where we can still go. In August of 2026, many of us met down at Robert and Lisa Cushman's
wonderful new beach house. The pictures will tell the story well.
